The pop singer, Britney Spears, again provides the subject of a conversation about herself, becoming news with the publication of her memoir "The Woman in Me" where she explains why she poses nude frequently on Instagram.

The book narrates several shocking aspects of her life, including her desire to take her clothes off online.

"I know a lot of people don't understand why I love taking pictures of myself naked or in new dresses," the "Baby One More Time" singer writes, according to the New York Times.

"But I think if other people had photographed them thousands of times, pushed them and posed for other people's approval, they would understand that I'm very happy to pose the way I feel sexy and take my own picture."

Her children have become estranged because of those images

Spears, who was under conservatorship from 2008 to 2021, has shared countless nude photos and videos on social media in recent years, showing off her body on beaches around the world and even posing topless while riding a horse.

The risque posts have driven a wedge between the 41-year-old Grammy winner and her two sons, Preston, 18, and Jayden, 17, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

"It's almost like she has to post something on Instagram to get attention," Jayden told the U.K.'s ITV last year. "This has gone on for years and years and there's a high probability that it will never really end."

Meanwhile, Federline told the same network that he often explains to Preston and Jayden that Instagram is 'just another way (Spears) tries to express herself.' However, the 45-year-old DJ noted that seeing their mother naked online can be "difficult" for the kids.

"I can't imagine what it's like to be a teenager and have to go to high school," he added. "Who knows how many people ask them about it or talk to them about it."

Spears hasn't seen Preston and Jayden in nearly two years, but Page Six recently confirmed that they reconnected by phone before the teens moved to Hawaii with their father in August.

Sources also told 'US Weekly' that the pop star has talked to her sons about her bombshell-filled book, which hits stores Tuesday, October 24.

Despite their estrangement, Spears dedicated "The Woman in Me" to Preston and Jayden, writing at the beginning of the book that they are the "love of [her] life."
