Jane Elizabeth Ebsworth Oriel is popularly known for being the wife of Sir David Frederick Attenborough[1]Wikipedia.

He is recognized worldwide as the highly acclaimed naturalist and broadcaster. He is also considered a National Treasure in the UK. Sir David joined BBC as a trainee producer and released the successful documentary titled Zoo Quest.

After several years of research, he came up with many super hit series like Life on Earth, The Living Planet, The Trials of Life, The Life of Birds, Frozen planet and the list goes on.

Sir Attenborough devoted his entire life to broadcasting and was entitled to many awards for his outstanding performances like Cherry Kearton Medal and Award in 1972.  He was one of the people to receive BAFTA for programs in each of black and white, color, HD, 3D, and 4K.

While he carried on his marvelous work, he kept receiving many international honors for his film making and broadcasting series. In 2018 and 2019 he was awarded Prime Time Emmy Awards for Outstanding Narration.

While Sir Oriels’ was busy in his research projects, his loving wife Jane left the world on16th February 1997.

Ebsworth Oriel took birth on 11th July 1926 in Middlesex, England on the laps of her parents. She belonged to a large British family and was very close to her parents.

Born and raised in England, after completing her schooling with good grades, she headed for further studies. Jane took admission to Cambridge University, England which is one of the most renowned universities in the world, and graduated from it with flying colors.

On 16th February 1997, she left the world at 70 years of age. At first, the reason for her death was unclear but later confirmed that she was battling from a brain hemorrhage.

The late Jane Elizabeth Ebsworth Oriel was married to the most influential broadcaster and narrator Sir David Frederick Attenborough.

This beautiful couple met each other during their graduate program at Cambridge University in England and fell for each other after a few meetings. They dated for several years and it was on 17th February 1950 when they took their relationship a step further and tied knots at Saint Anne’s Church, Kew Green.

After few years of their happily married life, Jane gave birth to their first baby boy Robert Attenborough followed by a baby girl Susan Attenborough. While Oriel used to look after their children, the television personality was busy reaching milestones in his broadcasting journey.

Robert followed his father’s footsteps, studied Biological Anthology, and became a Senior Lecturer for the School of Archaeology And Anthropology. Susan is a Primary School headmistress and lives with his father in the UK.

After 47 years of togetherness, in February 1997Jane collapsed with a brain hemorrhage when her beloved husband Attenborough was busy filming for his documentary The Life of Birds in New Zealand. As soon as he received this information he flew London to his loving wife.

During her last breath, he sat next to her, while she left her souls squeezing his hands and imprinting this gesture in his heart forever.
